Next Release - Dont Let The Man Get You Down

The video is directed by Brian Beletic and has six different endings – one of which features Paris Hilton. Fatboy Slim returns with something special for the summer. It started life with a sample from ‘70s Canadian rockers Five Man Electrical Band sent in by a fan. Norman Cook liked what he heard, got to work in his seaside studio and in his words, “gave a 70’s protest song a tab of Acid”. ‘Don’t Let The Man’ is the lighthearted result. Tongue in cheek and hooky as hell, it will be on the march everywhere this summer. It’s classic Fatboy Slim. A favourite cut from Palookaville.

    What more could you want?

‘Don’t Let The Man’ is released on the 4th July 2005

You Can Switch This, You Can Slick That

Slick Pete Flash is a genius, Slick was last featured on this site in Everyone Needs A Remix 2 with his well produced Big Beat Bootleg "Fuck The Commotion" which sampled Fatboy Slim "Fucking in Heaven" with Wiseguys "Start the Commotion", if u aint heard it take a listen.

So to my delight last week another bootleg arrived in my Inbox and I was blown away, so blown away that this clever bootleg is gettin its own little news piece, Slick has cleverly used "Weapon of Choice" and Will Smith "Switch" lyrics and it works perfectly. So i've converted it to Real Player format for your listenin pleasure and trust me it worth it.

And I'm sure if it was on 12" Norman Cook himself would drop this just for its great party flavour. LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN

Also - "Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club are going to be playing their Coca Cola Championship match against Sheffield United in Palookaville on the 2nd October 2004. SLASH DOT DASH - Release Change

The release date for the new single Slash Dot Dash of the new album Palookaville with now be released in the UK on the 20th September 2004 instead of the 13th, this is due to sample clearance problems with the vocals. Slash Dot Dash Video

This must be the most craziest music videos on tv at the momment.

Take a bathroom, invisible bungee wires and a scantly clad couple armed with marker pens and you get the new Fatboy Slim video for SLASHDOTDASH

How Tim Pope came up with the idea for this video of 2 people flying and break dancing in a bathroom, covering the walls, floor and themselves in / . - is beyond me but it works perfectly to the track.

Just like all of Tim Pope's work this is certainly ground breaking stuff and will definatly be nominated for an award next year.

Also were not to show if Norman Cook actually makes an appearcane standing behind the mirror.

To catch the video watch THE BOX on Sky Digital channel 449 from today (August 20th 2004)

    Put It Back Together

Fatboy Slim has written a touching love song about his wife Zoe Ball for his new album. The track, called Putting It Back Together, charts the couple's bid to patch up their marriage after a split.

Co-written and sung by Blur's Damon Albarn, the track is the first time Fatboy has opened up about the split, says The Sun.

Friends say it's his way of telling Zoe publicly he loves her more than anything. And the track is one of the best from the album Palookaville, which is released in October.

The song includes the positive line: "I was moving forward from the point I'd come from. I was rolling, rolling, put it back together."

It was written during a drunken evening Fatboy shared with Albarn when he visited the DJ's home in Brighton.

Fatboy - aka Norman Cook - said: "We were both really, really drunk and we kind of la-la'd the song. Normally you do that and you get the melody line, then you write the lyrics and you sing it.

"But we decided that the la-la-la we'd done was good enough."

The album contains collaborations with Lateef, Johnny Quality, Damon Albarn, Justin Robertson and Bootsy Collins. And the track names are no longer just initials the have also been revealed. The album is set for an autum release of 4th October 2004.

Slash Dot Dash [Album Edit] 2:53
    Wonderful Night (featuring Lateef) 4:46

Also SDD or "Slash Dot Dash" is still set to be the first single release on the 13th September 2004.

And a way to end this news is to rightfully quote the words of "DAVEBB" on the Gutters and Stars Forum - " about fooking time too - DAVEBB"

    Glastonbury Sunday Set Review

    Well, how awesome was the Sunday afternoon. Rob Da Bank warmed up in style as the rain poured and I just rested on the barriers at the front on my own in a rather drunk state. Fatboy kicked off with "Don't Stop Me Now" by "Queen" and played a sample from Twisted Nerves whistle song in Kill Bill 2. He then played "Shake Yer Dix by Peaches (Tiga remix). It was a really good set and a huge crowd gathered for him to dance in the mood. Tracks that stand out as being ones which I certainly lost it in were;

  • Max Sedgley, Happy (Fatboy Slim mix)
  • Yeke yeke Vs Punjabi Mc Mash up
  • White stripes Vs Public Enemy mash up
  • Remix of Franz ferdinands take me out

It was a really good set and he fashioned various animal hats along the way accompanied with a bottle of vodka.

"The new O2 ad (with all the speakers and bouncing images etc) is indeed a new Fatboy Slim track. It doesn't have a real title yet (though it has a working title of course). It's not a whole track yet - It won't be released as a track - yet".

Also the track contains a sample which was used in the track Love Life which was on collabration with Macy Gray on the Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars album.
